CBD is typically dosed by weight. BUT there are several factors that come into play besides weight.
A dogs age.
A dogs breed.
A dogs anxiety level.
A dogs inflammation level.
A dogs sickness level.
For example: a 70 pound bulldog will not receive the same amount of CBD as a 70 pound lab.
Why? Labs are larger, more athletic, mentally stimulated dogs and therefore their receptors receive and disperse the CBD differently. Bulldogs are not as athletic or intelligent ( I know..) so their receptors receive the CBD but if too much, it can transfer to high energy or the opposite which is sleep mode.
Time of day also changes this behavior. Day time is well rested, night time is expended.
It is important to understand your breed, their needs and the components of CBD in each area of need.
Dogs under 20 pounds are always 1/3 to ½ of a 10 mg snax. Monitor for 15-30 minutes and assess their level of calm. If there is no change, dose the other half of the treat and assess again. From there, no more treats until the CBD wears off. This allows you to see if the dose was too much or not enough. But continual dosing at once will not provide accurate results for beginners.
Dogs 20-45 pounds are treated the same way. Start low and adjust from there.
Same with larger dogs...
Anxiety: Will earn a higher dose of CBD. This is best done when the owner is home and assess the calmness and how long it takes.
Inflammation/Arthritis: Will need a heavy amount of CBD up front to start and then proceed to microdose am/pm for overall results and mobility. 4-8 days is average to begin noticing better mobility, playfulness, energy.
Allergies: This treat will take 15-45 days to really dive into a severe skin and coat allergy. * see pollen blend
It is important to start low and WATCH your pets response. Nothing works perfectly the first time. It takes a few days of continual use to begin to see the improvements in your dogs behavior.
